Jeff Ranieri has joined NBC Bay Area as meteorologist for NBC BAY AREA News at 5, 6 & 11p.m.

Moving back to California is a homecoming of sorts for Jeff ---  after spending several years forecasting in the West from Oregon to California.

"Ranieri has worked as correspondent for NBC News & MSNBC and has served as the Weekend Today Show meteorologist.  Ranieri has covered major weather events including Hurricane Katrina from Biloxi, Mississippi and the New England ice storm in December 2008.  Ranieri also traveled to Torino and Beijing to cover the 2006 & 2008 Olympic Games.  Before joining NBC in 2004, Jeff was a forecaster at KCRA-TV in Sacramento.

“Jeff has literally been in the center of the storm, reporting live from the scene of hurricanes, floods, tornados.  You name it, he’s covered it.  We are pleased to welcome Jeff back to Northern California,” said Vice President of News Susan Sullivan.
