Every summer for the past 15 years, Live 105 has proven that blending the flavors of the month with some of rock's biggest acts really is a big freaking deal. BFD, the alternative-rock summer festival, took flight just in time for summer vacation at the Shoreline Amphitheater. This year the nationwide one-day festival featured 311, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and other lesser-known bands just finding their way onto the radio.

- NAME BFD is a strictly local event, while warped tours the country, my vote is for BFD, although I don't care for the music of either festival. The TRUE BEST BAY AREA SUMMER FESTIVAL is without a doubt Outside Lands in Golden Gate park. It's a local event unlike any others with Pearl Jam and the Beastie Boys heading this year. Last year was Tom Petty and Radiohead. Much better music, very original, great atmosphere.BFD is a strictly local event, while warped tours the country, my vote is for BFD, although I don't care for the music of either festival.
