DANCE WITH THE STARS: The Sir Francis Drake Hotel is pretty buttoned-up during the day, but at night, the lounge above the hotel turns into a happenin' club. Check out Harry Denton's Starlight Room at 9 p.m. for great music and amazing skyline views. Cover is $10.
COMEDY CONTEST: At the Bay Area Laugh Leader Competition, 84 comedians compete over 10 weeks for a grand prize that includes cash, shows at Bay Area comedy clubs and radio appearances. Check out a first round show at The Purple Onion in San Francisco starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10.
SUNSET AND SUDS: If you're already feeling nostalgic for the Fourth of July, head down to the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company for cheap drinks and a fireside sunset. All well drinks, beers, and wine by the glass are $1 off from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
