Who knew you could find PETA's favorite meatball in San Francisco? Hell, who knew PETA liked meatballs?

The animal rights organization bestowed the prestigious honor of the nation's best vegan meatball on Ike's Place on 16th Street in San Francisco, according to Grub Street. The sandwich shop earned the honor despite serving some of PETA's tastiest friends.

"For a sandwich shop that isn't even all vegetarian, Ike's has a huge vegan menu, including two vegan meatball favorites: the Vegan Meatless Mike and the Not So Sloppy Ike," PETA said.

Ike's does take care of its animal loving friends. The restaurant offers separate vegetarian and vegan only menus.
