Second Home for Muni: Muni's opening a new 13-acre rail...

advertisement

Muni's opening a new 13-acre rail yard at 25th and Illinois on Saturday. The $204 million storage and maintenance lot will, incredibly, only be Muni's second rail facility, and will share the agency's train load with another in Balboa Park (where, currently, "you've got 200 cars stuffed into a yard designed for 100"). The extra yard is expected to bring more service for riders going outbound from the Embarcadero (yes please!), and for T-Third riders. Fingers: crossed. [SF Gate]
