While Bill Gates was off saving the world, Steve Jobs has been busy ridding the planet of Microsoft.
Apple is officially more profitable than Microsoft. A fact that would have been thought impossible just a decade ago.
But millions of iPads, iPhones and MacBooks later, Jobs and his company have surprassed the mighty PC.
Earning reports from the most recent quarter for both companies shows that while Microsoft reported a net income of $5.23 billion on revenues of $16.42 billion, Apple reported $5.99 billion of net profit on $24.67 billion of revenues.
This comes less than a year after Apple surpassed Microsoft in market cap last May.
Next up for Apple: the mighty oil companies.
