As May approaches, each day will recognize, honor, and celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage. To celebrate generations of history and tradition, the Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) will be highlighting special individuals who have made a significant contribution in their community.
It’s not uncommon for Asians and other minorities to feel uncomfortable seeking and receiving services due to language and cultural barriers. The team of multicultural and multilingual professionals at AACI works to bridge these gaps through an array of services and programs in health, recovery, advocacy, shelter and community. AACI is Santa Clara County’s largest community-based organization focused on Asian Americans in the community. For 40 years, our services have provided critical support and we continue to grow to provide culturally accessible services, not only for Asian Americans but for all.
During Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, ACCI is proud to honor the following: Dr. Helen Lei, Ph.D a Clinical Psychologist at ACCI, Vietnamese music performer Van-Anh Vanessa Vo, local San Jose Police officer Rich Saito, and a team of college students named Nicole Castro, Johnllen Crisostomo & Kevin Torion.
