Nob Hill: Last week, we brought you the depressing news that the Four Seasons had done away with its pianoman, and today, it comes out that the Terrace at the Ritz-Carlton, is no more. The Terrace, long considered one of the best (albeit also priciest) outdoor venues in all of San Francisco, has served its last alfresco champagne brunch and is now only available as a private party space.
Anyway, the Dining Room and adjacent Lobby Lounge remain open at the Ritz; weekend brunch has moved indoors to the Dining Room now, while breakfast and lunch are served in the lobby. For what it's worth, you may recall that the Terrace made some notable changes to its iconic brunch service back in December, including cutting the jazz band and dropping the buffet prices down to $55, which we're pretty sure was still a bit much in this economy.
