The Dish: Eastside West, Balboa Cafe, Sprinkles, More!

The rush of fall openings is upon us, and The Dish is here to serve up all the latest debuts. Per normal, operators are standing by.

1) The Marina: Almost exactly a month after it shuttered for renovations, Eastside West is now planning on reopening tomorrow (Thursday). The overhaul/freshening came courtesy of Rob Lam and the rest of Team Butterfly, and with a new focus on the American menu (American Kobe burgers, etc.), we're looking forward to seeing if it will evolve into more of a restaurant proper or if it will still be a Marina robots bar. Brunch will be back too, btw. 3154 Fillmore Street, at Greenwich; (415) 885-4000 [EaterWire]

2) Mill Valley: Speaking of the corner of Greenwich and Fillmore, Balboa Cafe's first offshoot opened this week in Marin. Since our last plywood visit, we've yet to see the finished product, but we're told it's pretty much the same deal as the SF branch: classic vibe, similar menu, burgers on baguette, possible Newsom sightings, etc. 38 Miller Avenue, Mill Valley; (415) 381-7321; website [EaterWire]

3) Palo Alto: Lordy, the first Bay Area branch of Sprinkles opened yesterday in the Stanford Shopping Center, and from the looks of things, cupcake mania is in full effect down there, because the Beverly Hills lines made the trip up here too. 40 minutes!? 393 Stanford Shopping Center, Palo Alto; (650) 323-9300; website [SFW]

4) Danville: The new and fourth Chow is now open across the Bay. It's bigger than the San Francisco locations (with parking lot and everything!), and only "same day" reservations are accepted. 445 Railroad Avenue, Danville; (925) 838-4510; website [EaterWire]
