The developer of a promising Trader Joe's/condos project at Van Ness and Sutter is throwing in the towel, according to a brief in the SF Business Times.

BayRock Residential, which owns the decrepit Galaxy Theater site, is looking for an economy-proof buyer for the already approved 12-story, 106-unit project with four levels of underground parking. Trader Joe's has apparently already signed for a 15-year lease. One day, guys. One day. [SF Business Times]
