How Much Snow in Tahoe This Season? 41 Feet at One Resort

Imagine the height of a four-story building. That's about how much snow has fallen at one of Lake Tahoe's larger ski resorts so far this season.

Squaw Valley on Sunday reported that it has received a whopping 492 inches — 41 feet — of snowfall since the season began.

Not to be outdone, nearby Boreal Mountain Resort has tallied 432 inches of powder falling this season. Kirkwood Mountain Resort has recorded 425 inches. Alpine Meadows has reported 407 inches. Sierra at Tahoe has registered 400 inches.

As of Sunday, about 20 percent of the resorts' recorded snowfall so far this season fell within the past seven days alone.

Squaw (105 inches), Alpine Meadows (87 inches), Boreal (84 inches), Sierra at Tahoe (82 inches) and Kirkwood (79 inches) all added to their impressive snowpack levels during a stormy week for the Sierra Nevada mountain range.

Northstar California Resort (95 inches), Sugar Bowl Resort (80 inches) and Heavenly Ski Resort (74 inches) were some of the other large Lake Tahoe resorts to cash in on the powder dump during the past seven days.
