Marina Zherebnenko is a firefighter/paramedic with the Alameda County Fire Department and is based in Dublin. She provided the following comment to NBC Bay Area's Rob Mayeda: "We clearly have more PPE we use when we have either a confirmed COVID-19 patient or possible patients with the virus, but we just don’t want to spread it to others if we are secretly exposed but don’t know it... so we protect everyone by wearing masks ourselves. I’m definitely smiling underneath my mask. :) love my job. Beat COVID-19 together.”
We want to take as much time as we can to express our gratitude to all the health care and frontline workers who are risking their lives during the coronavirus pandemic. In this edition of #HailingOurHeroes, we send special shoutouts to dialysis technician and volunteer Melissa Cortes, Linda Hess and her fellow emergency room nurses in Hayward, and nurse Jenna Maslowski and her crew at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland.
