$15K Reward Offered to Catch Death Valley Bingers Who Might Have Killed Rare Pupfish

Conservationists have upped the award to $15,000 for information on three men who went on a drunken binge in a fragile area of Death Valley National Park and may have killed one of the world's rarest fishes.

The Center for Biological Diversity on Monday offered $10,000 for information leading to arrests and convictions. The National Park Service is offering $5,000.

The Park Service says the men went to Devils Hole in Nevada on April 30, drank, fired off a shotgun at least 10 times and left beer cans and vomit.

One man swam in β€” then left his boxer shorts in β€” the Devils Hole, a hot pool that's the only natural home to the Devils Hole pupfish. Only around 100 of the tiny fish live there. Officials on Monday found a dead pupfish. They'll try to determine if the men's actions killed it.
