3-Alarm San Jose Fire Displaces Couple, Dog

Two people and a dog were displaced in a three-alarm fire in San Jose Wednesday night.

The fire was reported at 9:23 p.m. at a home on Foxworthy Avenue near South Bascom Avenue, according to San Jose fire Capt. Rob Brown.

Arriving firefighters found the two-story home engulfed in flames. There were obstructions in the yard that made it difficult for firefighters to initially access the burning home, he said.

Two of the occupants were at home, and one suffered a minor burn on the hand. The resident was treated on the scene, Brown said.

The fire destroyed more than half of the house and appears to have started in the back of the home, he said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
