A 7-month-old girl and 6-year-old boy were the subject of a statewide Amber Alert Friday.

Authorities said they were kidnapped in the Monterey County town of Prunedale.

Officials said the baby, Onika Edwards, and boy, Enrique Joseph, were abducted at 11:52 a.m. on Friday by the baby's father, Marquis Edwards.

Police said Edwards, 21, is driving a white Buick Century with a California license plate of 4RKD823.

He's described as a black man who is 6-feet 3-inches tall, weighs 250 pounds, and has a tattoo on his upper right arm reading "antdog."

"Marquis pulled the mother from her vehicle during a dispute at the Valero (gas station) in Prunedale," Sheriff's Cmdr. Lisa Nash said. "Marquis then drove away in the vehicle with both children inside."

Investigators think they may be driving to Fresno.

Anyone who spots Edwards should call 911 or the Monterey County Sheriff's Department at 831-755-3718.
