Body Found in Burning Car

A stunning discovery in San Francisco early this morning, an arson investigation suddenly turned into a homicide investigation.

Firefighters responded to a report of a car fire on the 400 block of Rose Street around 3:30 this morning.

When they extinguished the flames, they found a body inside.

San Francisco police say the body was in the passenger seat of a two-door gray Pontiac.

It was so badly burned, they aren't able to identify it at this time.

Webster Street is expected to be closed between Haight and Page for most of the morning while police investigate the homicide.

They say there is a security camera that was pointed at the scene, but they're not sure if it was working at the time of the fire.
