Caltrain Strikes, Injures Woman

The woman was rushed to the hospital as trains continued to operate.

A woman was struck by a Caltrain in Redwood City late Friday morning, an agency spokeswoman said.

The woman was struck at 11:51 a.m. by northbound train No. 143 at Main Street, Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said.

Trains were able to continue operating at a low speed, according to Dunn.

She was taken by ambulance to a hospital, Dunn said. An update on her condition was not immediately available.

The train, which is carrying 245 passengers, stopped at the scene, Dunn said.

The accident has also prompted southbound train No. 142 to stop at Caltrain's Redwood City station, according to Dunn.
