    Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Car in Pacheco

    A man died Wednesday after he was hit by a car in Pacheco, according to the California Highway Patrol.

    A man died Wednesday after he was hit by a car in Pacheco, according to the California Highway Patrol.

    The collision was reported around 7:50 a.m. in the area of Aspen and Brown drives, the CHP said.

    Based on a preliminary investigation, a woman behind the wheel of a Nissan Cube was driving southbound along Aspen Drive when the man walked into the road right in front of the Nissan for some unknown reason, according to the CHP.

    First responders tried to save the unresponsive man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.

    The driver of the Nissan was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the CHP said. It is not yet known if the man was under the influence.

    An investigation into the collision is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call 925-646-4980.
