Downed live power lines have prompted a shelter-in-place order in Walnut Creek.

The shelter-in-place is in effect on Los Banos Avenue and Los Cerros Avenues by San Carlos Drive.

A garbage truck hit low-hanging cable lines in the area. There is also a power outage in the area, officials said.

The incident is expected to last several hours.
