Dropping the Ax on Vallejo Fire Stations

Starting today, firefighters could take longer to get to the scene in Vallejo because of budget cuts.

Two fire stations will close Monday -- Station 25 on Mini Drive and Station 26 on Fulton Avenue.

Station 21 on Marin Street will only have a ladder truck. The department is also cutting the number of firefighters on duty from 18 down to 15.

The city of Vallejo filed for bankruptcy in 2008.
