Easy Voting in Santa Clara County

No need to get out of your car - just drop your ballot off at new drive-through locations.

Marla Tellez reports live in San Jose where voters are preparing to cast ballots in the primary election (Published Tuesday, June 5, 2012)

Today is election day, and turning in your absentee ballot in Santa Clara County is faster and easier than ever before.

There are several new drive-through ballot drop-off locations across the county for your convenience.

So far, turnout has been low at the five new drive-through locations.  They're received 1,432 ballots in the two weekends they've been open.  In Palo Alto, the drop-off box at the corner of Page Mill Road and El Camino Real received just 136 ballots.

Today, the drop-off boxes are open during polling hours, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

    Here's a look at where they're located:

MILPITAS: McCarthy Ranch Marketplace parking lot next to Interstate 880, 301 Ranch Drive
MORGAN HILL: Morgan Hill VTA Park & Ride near Hale Avenue, 169 Main Ave.
PALO ALTO: Mayfield Soccer Complex on Page Mill Road and El Camino Real, 2700 block of El Camino Real
SAN JOSE: Eastridge Mall VTA Park & Ride at Capitol Expressway and Eastridge Loop near Tully Road
SARATOGA: Westgate Mall Shopping Center parking lot on Hamilton Avenue side, 1600 Saratoga Ave.
