Missing Elderly Woman Found in Redwood City

This is the second successful missing elderly person found after community was alerted to a problem this week

Palo Alto police reported a missing woman with Alzheimer's Disease was located in Redwood City early Saturday evening.

The Palo Alto's emergency 911 system did a reverse call Saturday afternoon asking the community to help them find Naomi Brown.

"We need your immediate assistance to help us find this missing elderly woman. If you see her, please keep her under observation and call 911 immediately," the message said.

Within a few hours, Brown was found. Police said she was "fine."  They said on behalf of the family, "Thank you for the help!"

Police said Brown walked away from an assisted-living facility in the 600 block of University Avenue at 10:45 a.m. Saturday.

Naomi is 85-years old and she was wearing a white jacket with designs on both the front and back, dark pants, and a blue hat with a large brim.  She uses a walker with a green patterned bag on the front, according to police.

A similar alert went out earlier this week in San Jose. It also came to a successful conclusion. Reverse calls were made about an elderly woman wearing two brown hats and carrying a mop near 1st and Alma in downtown San Jose who went missing early Wednesday. That woman was found safely just a few minutes after the alert was issued.
