A gas station owner in Fremont is offering free gas to federal employees affected by the government shutdown.
Ray Olyaie got the idea from a woman who wanted to go to work, even though she wasn't getting paid.
"She said she wants to go to work but she doesn't have the money for gas," Olyaie said. "So, when I heaerd that, I figured at least I can help her. You see, you are a part of society, and we have to do it. We have to do as much we can."
Olyaie says if customers can prove they live in Fremont and are furloughed, he'll give them a free fill-up.
