Santa Clara County Sheriff's officials say human remains found over the weekend along a wooded highway appear to have been at that location for about a year.
The San Jose Mercury News reports the remains were discovered Sunday off the side of Highway 9 near Booker Creek Road in an unincorporated area near Saratoga.
Officials did not release any more information about the person's presumed age, gender or cause of death.
An investigation continues.
