The CHP found themselves arresting a husband and wife on DUI charges after they suspected both were driving separate vehicles while intoxicated.
Officers in Santa Rosa responded to an overturned pickup crash last Tuesday night. They found a man walking near the crash. He told them that his truck had been stolen and he was chasing it on foot. Officers didn't buy that story and determined that he was in fact driving the truck when it crashed and that he was drunk.
Then a few minutes later, the man's wife drove up to the scene saying that she had heard her husband had been in a wreck. She was also determined to be drunk and was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Both were booked into Sonoma County Jail.
