A judge involved in the rate case against PG&E has been reassigned after being accused of being too cozy with the utility.
According to the San Jose Mercury News, the judge was removed from the case after e-mails surfaced indicating PG&E wanted this particular judge to handle its case.
While the e-mails were deemed improper, the acting chief judge said he did not find any evidence of bias between the utility and the judge but took him off the case as a precaution.
The case could lead to an increase in natural gas bills for some customers to pay for improvements to pipelines.
