Man Fatally Stabbed By Child During Domestic Dispute in Fairfield: Police

A man who was found dead Sunday morning in Fairfield was allegedly stabbed by a child during a domestic violence incident, police announced Monday night.

Around 6 a.m., police received a call from a woman on the 700 block of Overture Lane, requesting an ambulance for her husband who would not wake up, according to police.

When police and fire personnel arrived at the house, they determined the woman's 45-year-old husband had died from an apparent stab wound, police said.

After an investigation, detectives concluded the victim and his wife were involved in an argument, which became physical, according to police.

Fearing for his mother's safety, the woman's underage son retrieved a knife from the kitchen and stabbed the victim, police said.

Working with the Solano County District Attorney's Office and Child Welfare Services, detectives have decided not to make any arrests as of Monday night, according to police.

Police have not released the age of the child involved or the identity of the victim.
