Man Busted with Gun on Marin Playground

A man with a gun was arrested after allegedly flashing the weapon on a playground in Marin County.

A playground is no place for a firearm.

A 21-year old Richmond man was arrested in San Rafael on Saturday, after he was found carrying a loaded gun in a local playground, according to the Marin Indepedent Journal.

David Arce was booked for multiple charges stemming from the alleged possesion of a handgun around children, including brandishing a weapon and child endangerment, according to the newspaper. He was so charged after riding in a car with the gun and three children.

Mercedes Bell, 21, of Richmond, who was the mother of one of the children found in Arce's vehicle and the caretaker of the other two, was also booked in charges.

Witnesses reported seeing a man with a gun in the playground around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, the newspaper reported. He was seen leaving in a silver vehicle.

Officers stopped the vehicle and discovered Arce and his gun. He and Bell were arrested and the children released to a family member, the newspaper reported.
