A nine-car collision in San Jose Thursday night was caused by a 49-year-old Saratoga man who lost control of his Ford Focus after suffering a medical problem, a police spokesman said today.
The crash was reported about 8:55 p.m. at East Capitol Expressway and Ocala Avenue, Officer Jose Garcia said.
Five people were transported to local hospitals for minor injuries. Some were taken as a precautionary measure and others had complaints of pain, Garcia said.
He could not disclose the nature of the man's medical problem.
Northbound Capitol Expressway between Cunningham and Ocala avenues was blocked off until about 10:15 p.m., Garcia said.
