Oakland Shooting Puts Schools on Lockdown

Two elementary schools were on lockdown after a shooting injured two people in Oakland Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened at 8:15 a.m. at 28th Avenue and International Boulevard, around the time parents were dropping off their kids.

Think College Now Elementary School and International Community School were on lockdown from about 8:40 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

There were about five or six police cars at the intersection of 28th and International after the shooting, said Fernando Gonzalez, owner of nearby F& G Auto Repair.

Gonzalez said he heard screaming and saw a man with blood on his face being loaded onto an ambulance.

Oakland police did not yet have additional details on the shooting, but there might have been multiple locations.
