San Mateo County Sheriffs are investigating a homicide in Half Moon Bay Tuesday morning.

Investigators received a call of an adult man down near Tunitas Creek at approximately 7 a.m. and discovered the deceased man. The Sheriff's Office said the death appeared to be foul play.

Officials could not prelimarily determine how the man died, according to Det. Rosemerry Blankswade. The Coroner has taken over the examinations and will notify the man's next of kin, Blankswade said.

The Sheriff's Office is asking for anyone with information to contact Det. Currie at 650-363-4051.

The last homicide in the area was in March at Grey Whale Cover, according to Blankswade.
