PayPal Founder Peter Thiel Loves Ron Paul

The billionaire is spending millions on pro Ron Paul super PAC.

Peter Thiel saw something in Mark Zuckerberg before Winklevii was ever a noun. The former PayPal CEO and co-founder has made a billion dollar career out of doing things differently.

The man even runs a program that pays high school kids not to go to college.

It's that history that will leave few surprised when they find out that Thiel is a huge Ron Paul fan. But the extent that Thiel is supporting the Republican presidential candidate might surprise some.

Thiel is using millions of his billions of dollars to fund Paul's campaign.

The managing partner of the Founder's Fund most recently donated $1.7 million to the super PAC Endorse Liberty this past January.

That donation came after Thiel already gave $150,000 and $750,000 in December. In total, Thiel has given the super PAC 76 percent of its total funding, or $2.6 million.

The support is so strong that it has prompted the Atlantic Wire to dub Thiel Paul's "sugar daddy."
