SJFD Responds to Three-Alarm House Fire

At least two homes up in flames.

San Jose Fire Department responded to two homes near the 1200 of Topaz street in San Jose were engulfed in flames, in the 8:00 hour Thursday night.

At least one of the homes is destroyed, and part of another

At one point 44 firefighters worked to contain the three-alarm-fire, which also took out a car in front of one home.

Fire officials said the residents left the home before firefighters arrived and one occupant was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

The American Red Cross was called in to assist the nine people who were displaced, including eight adults and one child.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
