San Jose Twins Featured in Oscar-Nominated “American Sniper” Movie

It was a record-breaking weekend for the Iraq War drama “American Sniper,” grossing $90 million. The film received six Oscar nominations as well. It stars Bradley Cooper, but two 6-year-olds from San Jose play a key part in the movie.

“American Sniper” is the true story of Navy Seal sharpshooter Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history. Kyle is played by Cooper. 6-year-old twins Aidan and Madeleine McGraw play his kids.

“I got to meet Bradley Cooper, and Clint Eastwood. Yeah!” the pair said.

Their parents were proud the kids were a part of this movie. Not just because of the superstar line-up, but because their father Colin and several of his family members are veterans.

"A lot of people know the story, and what the story is, and what the book is about taking care of veterans. And so it's just really special, it was a really special thing,” Colin McGraw said.

Even though the twins are just 6 they know all about the Oscars, and were excited to hear the film is up for best picture.

“I love that, I love that trophy,” Madeleine said.

Their parents say the twins’ acting career is going to pay future college expenses.

"It's been amazing. The whole ride's been incredible. What a blessing,” said their mother Jackie McGraw.
