A small plane went down in a field immediately after takeoff around 8:20 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of Epic Street in Vacaville, north of the Nut Tree Airport, City of Vacaville spokesman Mark Mazzaferro said.
Police and firefighters responded quickly to the crash, Mazzaferro said. The plane landed close to the North Village housing development, Mazzaferro said.
The male pilot refused medical treatment.
