Survey: SF Men So Desperate for Valentine's Date, They'll Even Pay

A highly-scientific survey reveals SF men's desperation.

How desperate can a man be for a Hallmark Holiday date? This bad: they're willing to shell out $130 for the privilege -- or more!

Desperation "translates into money," according to SF Weekly, which brings us the news that WhatsYourPrice.com has found. The "online dating auction" Web site -- always a good start -- surveyed its 369,000 first date offers made in the month before Valentine's Day, and saw that 5,318 came from San Francisco men, who were willing to pay up to $131.70 on a first date, the newspaper reported.

That's almost 62 percent more than the $80 average on the Web site -- but then again, it's San Francisco.
