A 23-year-old Los Angeles woman charged with murder in stabbing a San Francisco construction worker after the victim refused to allow her use of an onsite Porta-Potty allegedly made a chilling comment following a similar, earlier attack, prosecutors said Tuesday.
“Die now,” Lizette Cauich purportedly said after and her co-defendant, Oscar Mendez, 42, also of Los Angeles, allegedly stabbed a Tenderloin parking lot attendant Amar Dahmi on May 29, according to prosecutors. That worker survived, but was critically wounded.
Both defendants appeared in court Tuesday in connection with that attack and the stabbing death of Mitzi Campbell, 58, of San Francisco. They did not enter pleas and will be in court on Thursday.
Cauich was ordered held on $10 million bail for the slaying and the earlier attack. She is charged with robbing Campbell after she allegedly rifled through the dying woman’s pockets.
Campbell was directing traffic around construction at Fifth and Shipley streets at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the time of the confrontation.
Campbell’s family appeared at the hearing, questioning why Campbell was forced to essentially act as a security guard for the project.
In the earlier attack, the judge ordered Mendez held on $5 million bail. He faces accessory charges in the Campbell attack and attempted murder charges in the attack at 1:30 p.m. on May 29 of Dahmi at Eddy and Taylor streets in the Tenderloin.

The stabbing also followed Dahmi’s refusal to allow his assailants to use the Porta-Potty. He was critically injured from stab wounds to the groin area and back.
