TED Talks Now on Netflix, Android

More than 1,200 talks will be made available on new platforms.

TED Talks are admirable, thought-provoking, chin-stroking goodness that, until now, were limited to desktop consumption or an iOS app.

Now, those ideas that are worth spreading are available on Netlflix and in the Google Play Store (as well as Amazon Appstore).

The talks feature experts within a field as they extrapolate and innovate on the human situation, if not the human condition. The app will be updated daily, according to a release from TED. App users can also stream just the audio (in case you're jogging and want to explore the nature of dark matter).

TED is a nonprofit organization dedicated to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago. The conference invites the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes. Those talks are then distributed for free at TED.com.

Speakers have included Bill Gates, Al Gore, Roger McNamee, Sir Richard Branson, Phillippe Starck and dozens more. One well-trafficked TED talk is about the Power of Introverts.

The Android app will allow users to browse and search, share, bookmark for later consumption, offline viewing and a curated audio stream.

On Netflix, the viewing is more like a thematic documentary, with several TED talks on a single subject grouped together for a two-hour experience.
