‘I Feel So Empowered': Thousands Attend Bernie Sanders Rally in Sacramento

During his Northern California visit, Sanders called for a tax on carbon, a $15 minimum wage, clean drinking water and pounded away on economic and social justice reforms.

An emotional crowd flocked to the Cal Expo in Sacramento Monday night to hear Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders say he knows it is not likely, but it is still possible to win the Democratic nomination.

Sanders trails front-runner Hillary Clinton in the Democratic presidential primary. But no matter what, Sanders is promising to carry his campaign for president all the way to the convention in Philadelphia.

During his Northern California visit, Sanders called for a tax on carbon, a $15 minimum wage, clean drinking water and pounded away on economic and social justice reforms.

"Brothers and sisters I want earnings that work for us all, not just those on top," Sanders told supporters.

Some of the 15,000 in attendance were inspired to hear Sanders.

"I just feel so empowered and motivated right now," said Rachel Tanguile, a Modesto resident who attended the rally.

The Sanders campaign said there will be a Bay Area event sometime before the June 7 primary, but the exact time and location has not been chosen yet.
