A Powerball ticket sold in San Leandro was just shy of hitting Wednesday's $564.1 million jackpot, California lottery officials said.
The ticket sold at Pop Top Market & Liquor on East 14th Street matched the numbers 11-13-25-39-54, but missed the Powerball number 19. Hitting five of six numbers means the winner will earn about $1.4 million.
Similar winning tickets were sold in Mono and Orange counties.
Considering how much money was at play, lottery officials expect the winning tickets sold in California should draw a "sizeable windfall."
Lottery officials said no tickets sold in California hit the Powerball jackpot.
Jackpot tickets were sold in North Carolina, Texas and Puerto Rico, lottery officials said.
