    Woman Charged With Murder in Fatal DUI Crash in Walnut

    A 35-year-old Tennessee woman was charged with two counts of murder in a multi-vehicle crash in Walnut Creek last week that killed a father and daughter, police said Tuesday. Pete Suratos reports.

    A 35-year-old woman accused of murder and driving under the influence in a traffic collision that killed a Walnut Creek man and his 8-month-old child pleaded not guilty to felony charges Thursday in Contra Costa County Superior Court.

    Jessica Ann Martin, from Tennessee, was arrested at the scene of the four-car crash, which occurred around 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25 on South Broadway in Walnut Creek.

    Hector Garza, 45, died at the scene. His baby girl, Camilla, died at a hospital.

    Martin was charged with four felonies, including two counts of murder and driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher.
