Police are warning women to avoid walking alone near a Palo Alto Caltrain station after another woman was jumped from behind and robbed.
The woman was walking in the area of Loma Verde Avenue and Alma Streets on her way home from the California Avenue station at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday when a man knocked her down, threatened her with a knife and stole her backpack.
The man ran north on Alma Street.
The latest attack is similar to at least two other robberies in the area. Police have stepped up patrols in the area.
