An 80-acre brush fire alongside Highway 152, east of Gilroy, could cause some problems for people heading to Southern California for the Labor Day holiday weekend.
Flames were still burning Friday morning on the north and south sides of the highway, near Casa de Fruta.
Traffic has been heavily affected by the fire and some lanes remain closed Friday morning, though by 1 p.m. Friday all lanes had reopened, officials said. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
Highway 152 is is one of the major routes drivers can take from the South Bay to get to Interstate Five on their way to Southern California.
As of Friday morning, firefighters said they have the fire contained about 60 percent contained and still have a lot of work ahead of them.

The fire appears to have started after a vehicle collision Thursday afternoon on westbound state Highway 152.
