Driver Slams into SJ Man and Friend

Witnesses hold driver who tried to flee after hit and run in San Francisco.

Two men are recovering from a hit and run accident this morning in San Francisco.

The pair were walking near the intersection of Van Ness and Pacific avenues shortly before 2 a.m.

That's when they were hit by a car driven by a 28-year-old San Francisco man.

One of the victims, a 28-year-old San Jose man, suffered injuries that were considered life-threatening, police say.

The other victim is a 28-year-old Vacaville resident. He suffered minor injuries.

The driver kept going after the collision, but witnesses stopped him less than a block away and held him until police got on the scene and arrested him.

The driver's name has not been released.
