Caught in a Cemetery: Bay Area Woman Charged for Stealing Metal

Thief had about 40 pounds of copper and bronze fixtures.

A Daly City woman is facing charges after police say they caught her stealing metal fixtures from a cemetery.

A spokesman for the Colma Police Department says officers arrested Kimberly Ann Baker after she was spotted by workers at the Italian Cemetery.

Officers say Baker had about 40 pounds of copper and bronze fixtures, including copper inserts that hold flowers, a bronze vase and a 12-foot copper drain pipe she had ripped from a building.

Baker was reportedly on probation at the time of her arrest.

Colma police are working with other cemeteries to provide extra patrols and catch graveyard thieves.
