The U.S. Coast Guard responded Friday morning to a fire on a container ship several miles off the Monterey Bay coast.
The fire was reported on the NYK Delphinus, which was bound for the Port of Oakland, due to arrive around June 4, according to the Marine Traffic website. It departed from Port of Fraser River, Canada, on May 7.
Images provided by the Coast Guard's Pacific Southwest division show smoke coming from the ship's tower.
No other details about the fire were immediately available from the Coast Guard.
