Elderly SJ Hit-and-Run Victim Dies

An 80-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision in San Jose on Monday has died, according to police.

Quy Tran was hit while crossing Senter Road at Independence Drive at about 8 a.m., Sgt. Mike Sullivan said.

The driver got out after the crash and allegedly dragged her off the roadway, but then drove away, according to Sullivan. Tran was taken to Santa ClaraValley Medical Center, where she died.

The suspect is described as an Asian man between 25 and 35 years old with a thin muscular build and short black hair. He was in a green sedan, possibly a Honda, Sullivan said.
