Former Tesla Employees Reported for Alleged Laptop Theft

Police are investigating after two employees who recently left Tesla allegedly failed to return company laptops and were reported for theft, the Palo Alto Police Department said Friday.

Tesla reported two laptops worth $2,260 stolen on Sept. 26. The two employees, who no longer work for the company, are a man and woman both said to be in their 40s, according to Palo Alto police.

No arrests have been made.

Tesla representatives did not immediately return an inquiry on Friday morning about the theft, and whether any proprietary information was on the laptops.
