Galant Food, San Leandro Company, Recalls Beef Products Due To Possible Processing Flaw

A San Leandro Meat company is recalling hundreds of pounds of beef.

Health officials say the Galant Food Company is recalling more than 400 pounds of meat because it did not meet the appropriate cooking temperature, the USDA announced Monday.

The items being recalled include 4.5 ounces of Galina’s Original Beef and Cheese Piroshki. Five-ounce Paramount Beef Piroshkis are also affected.

The products, which bear the establishment number “EST.9014,” were produced between Sept. 22 and 24, 2014 and then shipped to a retailer in the Bay Area and a distributor in Northern California.

So far there have been no reports of illnesses linked to the recalled products.
