Both directions of state Highway 9 in unincorporated Santa Clara County were reopened at 9:45 a.m. following a solo-vehicle crash early Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP said the crash was first reported at 4:43 a.m. just east of state Highway 35, where a vehicle had gone down a steep embankment. The road was closed in both directions.

The injured motorist was taken to the hospital for a possible broken leg, the CHP said.
